Sardaar Ji 3 Full Movie Review

OMG, so I just finished watching Sardaar Ji 3 and—I’m shook! This movie is a wild mix of horror, comedy, and Sardar‑ji swag, starring Diljit Dosanjh (our national treasure), Neeru Bajwa, Jasmin Bajwa, and Pakistani actress Hania Aamir. It’s the third film in the franchise, directed by Amar Hundal—the vibe is full of cute jump-scares, cheesy jokes, and Diljit’s killer charisma. The runtime is a comfy 134 minutes.

1. Why It’s a Must-Watch (Even with the Drama)

  • Diljit’s magnetism: He’s literally so relatable and funny. His portrayal of Jaggi is full of sincerity, and he nails both comedic timing and spooky moments. I found myself, like, rooting for him every time he tried to save his crew from ghostly mischief.
  • Hania Aamir as Noor: Okay, here’s the thing—Hania’s chemistry with Diljit is chef’s kiss. They play off each other beautifully; their bond gives emotional depth beyond the scares. But casting her stirred controversy (more below), so the extra tension adds a meta-layer to watching them share the screen.
  • Horror-comedy balance: Imagine spooky corridors, possessed paintings, silly banter—the mix works! Some scenes gave me legit goosebumps, others made me burst out laughing (especially interactions with Gulshan Grover). It’s the comfort-horror I didn’t know I needed.
  • Tight script & pacing: Sure, it leans into classic horror tropes, but it weaves them with fresh Punjabi cultural humor and an authentic soundtrack (six songs produced by MixSingh, Zafar Sandhu, Jaani, and vocals including Diljit’s!).

2. The Controversy That Rocked the Trailer

The trailer dropped on June 22, unveiling Hania Aamir as the female lead. A ton of Indian celebs and politicians reacted sharply—Puneet Issar pointed out it was disrespectful to Sikh history, saying, “Don’t you know that four sons of Guru Govind Singh were martyred?”. Meanwhile, TV singer Aditya Narayan urged Diljit to “make amends,” calling the casting a limit of tolerance . Other prominent names like Kumar Vishwas and B Praak chimed in as well.

Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah, Diljit’s childhood hero, stepped in to support him, accusing political groups of dirty tricks—but then withdrew his statement after backlash. The FWICE even demanded Diljit be dropped from another film, Border 2 😬, though recent BTS videos show he’s still going strong on set.

So yes, it’s like the Stranger Things of Punjabi cinema—but with real‑world geopolitical drama.

3. Big Overseas, India-No-Show

Because of the controversy and ongoing India–Pakistan tensions (linked to a terror attack in Pahalgam and political bans), Sardaar Ji 3 released exclusively overseas on June 27—India didn’t screen it.

Here’s how the box office is humming globally:

  • In Pakistan: Collected about PKR 3.5 crore (~₹4.3 cr) on opening day—beating Salman Khan’s Sultan record. By day three, it reached about ₹18.1 cr worldwide.
  • In the first weekend globally: ₹18.1 cr (approx USD 2.2 million), with Day 1 at ₹4.32 cr, Day 2 at ₹6.71 cr, Day 3 at ₹7.07 cr.
  • By Day 5: The cumulative tally hit USD 3 million (₹25.7 cr).
  • Worldwide gross so far: Around USD 3 million or ₹25.7 cr.

It’s likely to climb higher as more overseas cinemas are still screening it—definitely impressive for a regional movie without Indian distribution.

4. Personal Feelings & Human Tone

Watching it felt like hanging out with my besties on a spooky sleepover. There were moments I gasped, then chuckled, then kinda cried for the characters. Diljit’s dialogue delivery made me feel seen, LOL. Even though the ghost scenes are dramatic, the humour and friendship make it a movie I wanna rewatch with popcorn.

As a Punjabi girl, seeing our language and culture embraced with horror‑comedy while still respecting our roots feels so special.

5. Where to Watch It Now (and Later)

  • 🚫 Currently, no Indian streaming platform hosts it because of the theatrical ban.
  • 🎥 If you’re abroad (Canada, US, UK, Australia, Pakistan, Middle East), check your local theaters or online platforms like iTunes, Google Play Movies, or YouTube Movies for rental/purchase.
  • 📢 When it eventually gets digital rights, it’ll likely land on platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, or Zee5, but there’s no official date yet. Keep a lookout!

Final Verdict: 4.2/5

Sardaar Ji 3 is more than a horror-comedy—it’s a statement. It tackles boundary-pushing casting choices, political backlash, and the power of stories that travel beyond borders. While the controversy might make some uncomfortable, the film itself is heartfelt, fun, and a total watch.

If you’re open-minded and craving a regional gem with spooky chills, hearty laughs, and Diljit’s charm, this one’s a must.
